CASSIOPIA&&BELLUM The mares walked in unison, wandering about the claiming grounds with no destination in mind. Every once in a while their heads would dip to rip at certain patches of grass, scooping up the few crisp, dried stalks of faded greenery that survived the harsh winter. After a few minutes of the continuing silence the chestnut mare stomped her hoof and snorted harshly through her widened nares. "I can't believe you dragged me here Cas. It's not like I actually want to be under someone's power. It reminds me too much of Charon." Bellum snarled lightly beneath her breath, huffing indignantly as she danced out her anger. Her brown eyes, flecked with blue and grey were hidden momentarily as her chestnut locks fell across her eyes. "I don't even have the color you have. You'll be the one to catch all the attention." Bellum's eyes glanced over at Cassiopia, whose silver bay sabino frame glided smoothly across the terra. Her mismatched eyes, one teal and one icy blue rolled affectionately at her half-sister, shaking her head. "You know that's not true Bellum." She trotted forward, her four white stockings rising and falling as she carried herself under the shade of a tree, letting herself cool in it's shadow.
Bellum quickly followed, the scars on her frame tightening as she bunched her muscles beneath her. "Do you think it will ever rain?" She glanced up at the sky, her audits flicking backwards in mild annoyance at the hot sun beating down on her. Oh how she couldn't wait until winter came, maybe it would bring with it some sort of relief. Her eyes narrowed, looking around to see if she could catch the shadowed figure of another lurking on the horizon, but there was nothing. Sighing, she brought herself closer to Cassiopia, tail flicking over her hocks as she tried to remain still. "Soon it will be winter, and perhaps the rain will come." Bellum snorted again, annoyed at the calm demeanor that Cassiopia always possessed. Bellum was a fighter. A wary mare that didn't trust anyone because she didn't know who to trust anymore. Her father had gone crazy long before her birth, her mother disappeared soon after. Born in the times of the Judges, when they all reproduced like a horde of rabbits, and their children roamed in a pack for the first months of their lives. Charon had made Cassiopia's and Bellum's life a living hell. While Cas knew how to back down and avoid the wrath of Charon, Bellum didn't know how to back down, and would continually be beaten for her sarcastic remarks. Her frame was wrapped in the white lines of scars where her fur had ceased to grow as her skin healed. Bellum had never learned what it was to trust, and therefore gave up on the whole institution of trust and love long ago. It was only Cas that she had any type of affection for, someone who knew who she was and where she had come from. Bellum and Cas knew everything about each other, down to the few times that Cas lost control of the calm that rested inside her. It was those times that she had to work to control the wildly changing emotions that Cas went through. She was unsure of Cas's idea that they should join a herd, but went along with it so that she could protect her if the moment came. She didn't know who roamed these lands, but Bellum knew that she would rip apart anyone that dare to try to hurt her. Cas didn't know any better sometimes, she would take any event with a smile, and that's what worried Bellum the most.
ooc: Okay, so Cassiopia and Bellum are half-sisters and have practically been together since birth.
Cassiopia - Silver Bay Sabino with a reverse bald face blaze and four white stockings and dark silver/white mane. She's a pacifist, an optimist, and is always looking for the bright side, though she can be bipolar at moments, which you most likely won't be seen here. Bellum - Chesnut mare with a chestnut mane. She's a fighter, doesn't trust easily, and has moments of being a pessimist. She's also very realistic about things, and tries to be straightforward.
I'd actually like them to be split up, but not forced claimed, not that Bellum was going to allow that to happen to either of them anyway.

Ebony hooves struck the ground quietly, moving the mare foward. This mare was different than the others who roamed this land. She was not one to be claimed, she was one to do claiming. The mare, Arany, was the proud owner of the land of Izinga. It was unique, very unqiue, like the individual who ruled it. This white and brown spotted Appaloosa was the owner of a rainforest and she was hunting for a herd. She needed Guardians, Wisdomers, Warriors, and Members. So here she walked, in the lands of the claiming, looking for anyone who needed a home. She was willing to take anyone as she had been living alone for some time now and it was beginning to take a toll on the mare. Arany snorted and shook her head as her gallop turned to a canter. Up ahead she could see to horses underneath a tree and they seemed to be alone for the time being so Arany seized the chance. She cantered to the tree and slowed as she got closer, before finally stopping just outside of the shadow.
The two mares stood there, one speaking and looking, while the other seemed to not give a care in the world what was happening around her. Upon closer inspection you could see the chestnut mare was covered in scars. Arany wouldn't ask what from, it was the mare's decision to tell if she ever wanted to. The other mare, the silver bay sabino, had Arany's attention. She seemed calm and collected and Arany felt calm just looking at the mare. "Greetings faes. My name is Arany and I have a land without a herd. Would either of you, or both, do the pleasure of being members of my herd?" Arany asked it with a soft and calm tone in her voice.
She kept glancing at the chestnut who looked like the could and would explode at any given second. "It is a rainforest with the ruins of an ancient civilization and a very unique waterfall cave." Arany spoke again, trying to sweeten the deal. She needed someone for her herd and maybe one, or both, of the mares were willing to return to her home with her. Izinga was an amazing place but without another being in it, it was lonely. Arany held in her hope of them joining but let them see the compassion, intelligence, and kindness that her brown eyes always showed.

CASSIOPIA&&BELLUM Bellum's ears flicked up and forward, intrigued for a single moment as the mare approached them before they pinned once more down to her skull. She was not selective in her dislike of others, mares fell under the category of "equines she'd rather not be around." Only Cassiopia fell under the list of those she would like to spend her time with, and a handful under the tolerable list. The mare before her did, unfortunately, not fall under either category, and therefore got the full force of the ill will that Bellum held within her. It was only the fact that this mare was, in fact, not a stallion that kept her in check. Instead she just grumbled beneath her breath as the mare talked about her invitation to her lands. Cassiopia looked upon the mare with the same optimism and open mind that she looked at life with, wondering just how it was possible for a mare to rule a land. Yes, she had heard of such a thing happening before and had seen it, but Cassiopia knew that she herself could never accomplish such a feat.
"How can you have a herd grow if there's nothing but mares within?" Bellum's voice was harsh, not that she cared particularly, since the question was more rhetorical. Cassiopia was quick to press past Bell and calm her down. "Hush, Bellum, speak nicely to strangers." She nudged her cheek lightly with her muzzle, trying to soften the defiant look that rested itself within Bell's eyes. Instead Bell swung her neck away, pouting silently as she glared into the field around her. Cassiopia's brow furrowed before she looked back at the newcomer. "I apologize, Arany, for my sister's attitude, we haven't had the best of socialization with strangers." She bowed her head lightly, looking at the mare before her. "I am Cassiopia, and this is --" "Bellum." Her voice snaked out in a low hiss, still looking away from both Cassiopia and Arany. "I'm unsure of Bellum's own opinion, but I would love to hear more about your home. How did you come to own such a large responsibility?" Cassiopia smiled lightly, hoping that Bellum's foul demeanor wouldn't affect the mare's own view of the pair.

She twitched her ears slightly as the chestnut mare spoke. Her words didn't bother Arany but she was not expecting such an answer like that from the mare. She looked kinder than that but Arany did not judge. She didn't know about the past of this mare or how she had been raised. Maybe that was how she had been or maybe something had made her this way. Arany collected her thoughts to answer the mare but the sabino spoke before she could collect all her thoughts and begin speaking. She spoke of a bad socialization with strangers and Arany nodded slightly. Cassiopia seemed calm and polite while Bellum seemed more harsh. "Maybe different pasts." She listened closely to the words that Cassiopia spoke. She smiled as she asked how she had gotten such a responsibility. "I received the responsibility by luck. I was wandering about the rainforest when I noticed no other equine had walked there in ages. I waited a few days to see if any horse came to the land but none did. I claimed it, marked it, and now it is mine." She spoke to Cassiopia kindly and looked over to Bellum, her brown eyes looking at the chestnut mare and wondering what her past was like. She answered Bellum's question. "A herd can not grow with just mares but for the time being I believe just mares is the best solution. Mares are wiser than stallions so they can lead a herd with wisdom and not brute force. If mares make a herd and then introduce stallions then there will be no fight about who has power." She thought about what she had spoken for a moment and then returned her gaze to Cassiopia, the kinder of the two.
ooc: Ahh no muse! Sorry for the short post.

Cassiopia nodded at Arany's words, enjoying the bit of small talk she created between them. It had been a while since she had heard a voice other than Bellum's, and while she loved her sister, she did not enjoy the pessimistic flare that she normally underlined her words with. "I see, that's interesting, I didn't know how one would claim lands, other than to fight for them." She shuddered lightly, appalled at the though of bloodshed over something as simple as land. Of course that was something that would always occur, no matter what her thoughts on the subject may be. Still, it seemed vicious, and not at all the way that things should be. Arany spoke once more, and Cas couldn't help but let a slight smile reach across her features at the wisdom behind the words. In an instant she realized that Bellum had not taken them well, her ill eye falling upon the mare with a sort of baleful pride that made her look more beast than equine. Cas stomped her hoof lightly, scraping it along the ground near Bell in an attempt to calm her, letting her own glare cut across the expanse towards her. Bellum quit her mood, huffing out her breath and closing her eyes for a moment. For all the positiveness that Cas had, her mood could split at the drop of a hat, and she could bring down her wrath upon those that deserved it. Bellum knew this, and let her anger drop, instead ripping a mouthful of grass and swallowing to bide her time. "I cannot speak for my sister, but I would love to accompany you to your land." Her smile could not cover up Bellum's small gasp, which she fought to cover by ripping a bite of grass from the ground. She didn't know why Cas would leave to go to any home, they were fine on there own. Bellum was hurt, unsure of how to react, instead she snorted and turned away from the two. "Fine. I'll just make my place elsewhere." She glared at the pair before she kicked up her heels and ran away, running far until she crossed the border of the claiming grounds, and disappeared into the woods. "Oh, bother." She stared in the direction of her sister's departure for a moment, before turning back to Arany and smiling. "She'll learn sometime. We all have to grow up eventually."

The words that came out of the maw of Cassiopia were not was Arany was expecting. She heard Bellum gasp which was then quickly muted with the tear of grass. The white and brown mare stood there for a moment, her mind in shock that someone wished to join her home. "She wants to join my herd!" A smile spread on Arany's features and she nodded softly at Cassiopia. Bellum turned and left, running to the forest, and the mare heard the words that the sabino spoke. "Yes we do all have to grow up. I am glad you wish to join me." She dropped into place beside Cassiopia and began to walk with the mare. "I must ask, which standing do you want in the herd? You can be a wisdomer, who teaches others. You can be a Guardian, who monitors the boundaries and brings intruders to the herd. You can be a Warrior, who fights for the land. Or you can be a herd member until you pick what spot you would like." Arany asked her calmly as she walked, rejoiced at what was happening.
